Training Notice to Cosmetic/Hair Removal Non Practitioners (Updated 3-14-05)
Operators will be required to meet the didactic training requirements by attending an approved course.
Operators active before April 1, 2005 must demonstrate through documentation (CLS certification and RMLC college transcript) that they meet the rule's didactic training including time and subject requirements.
In both cases supervision must be provided by a licensed practitioner. If the operator is unable to provide documentation to demonstrate the required didactic training they shall attend an approved course (Rocky Mountain Laser College) meeting the rule standards.
Additionally, all operators must be able to provide documentation by the licensed practitioner, that the operator has met the direct supervision and observation requirements, is competent and adequately trained to safely perform treatments as ordered by the licensed practitioner.
The Rocky Mountain Laser College is currently one of several approved training resources for required didactic training in the state of Arizona. Please be aware that the RMLC has been in business since 1948 and the principal Lorenzo Kunze, ME has over 35 years in the permanent hair removal business. He has the distinction of being the one of the first laser operators in the world to fire the laser for permanent hair removal.
Questions may be forwarded to Mr. John Lamb at jlamb@arra.state.az.us or call (602 255-4845 x235).
