This is an
entirely new curriculum format
designed exclusively for our 2010 students.
Over the past few years we
have asked past graduates on what would make the training easier to learn, provide a
more organized program
and still allow for an exciting
instructional setting.
After much ado the RMLC
board has designed a brand new design that we think that future students and
graduates will findbeneficial
and stimulating
and provide more hands-on opportunities.
The college will have now have three 2-day training courses
that will go from Monday through
Saturday. Before each student arrives at the
college they will have already taken an on-line
pre-requisiteE-learning laser course.
This on-line course will take the student through: laser/IPL introduction, didactic,
theory, physics, safety and terminology. Until
this new curriculum gets in full swing, the $1,999 cost
of the 20-hour on-line course will be waived until August
2010.
This new training format will get the student up
to par with words that are associated with laser, what each laser is used for
and the physics behind aesthetic
lasers. Students will be
ready to start hands-on instruction, right away.
Each 2-day (20-hour) course
will consist of a structured and
focused curriculum on just
one subject at a time. This will allow the student to learn one
aesthetic laser modality, with several instructors and with various lasers:
1. tattoo2. hair/veins 3. skin/cellulite)
- Each class is color formatted - see below -
Each course or modality
will be taught by myself and my assistant instructors.
By utilizing variouslasers and instructors -
teaching this one modality for 2 entire days
- will provide the ultimate
learning environment. Then the next 2-day training will
concentrate on a different modality.
After the completion of the on-line courses and all three modalities
(5-day course) the student will receive the coveted
CLS
certification.
This way the student stays
attentive to one subject at a time and receives total
attention from all of the instructors...which will also increase the hands-on time
each student will have with each modality.
As I start
my 39th year here at the college,
I personally feel that this new curriculum will benefit our students the best
possible way. It will also assist the student to learn
faster and allow more time for hands-on training. This will
make our graduates better Certified Laser Specialists and in the
long run, make the college
a better place to learn.
